When We Are Closed
If you need to see a Doctor URGENTLY when the surgery is closed, please do one of the following:
Between 6.00pm and 6.30pm Monday to Friday, please phone Go-To-Doc on: 0161 336 5958.
Between 6.30pm and 8.00am Monday to Friday, or at any point during weekends and public holidays, please call 111. Calls to this number are free from landlines and mobiles.
The call handler will then triage your call and arrange the appropriate action based on your needs.
The surgery telephone lines open at 8.00am each morning, Monday to Friday.
Please be aware that the out of hours services are for URGENT cases that cannot wait until your GP surgery is open again. Please be mindful of this when contacting NHS111.
Alternatives to Attending A&E
For non life-threatening conditions, we would like you to consider using other methods of seeking treatment, rather than attending A&E:
- Pharmacy Minor Ailments (individual opening times) for the treatment of minor ailments such as cough/cold, sore throats, thrush etc.
- Walk-in Centre (located at the side of A&E, Tameside Hospital) (08:00 – 20:00) walk-in centre open 365 days a year for all non-life threatening conditions.
- Minor eye conditions - local opticians offer a free consultation for all minor eye conditions, including conjunctivitis, runny eyes, infections etc. Contact your local optician to check for participation in this service and to book an appointment
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
